Happy new year!

For some people a new year comes along with new year resolutions, but research shows that these resolutions rarely stick around for more than a few weeks. Life is busy and it is hard to make goals of things that are not as tangible and pressing as that which is immediately before our eyes. To that end, as a belated new years present, Ali and AJ helped launch a spin-off project called the Life-balance app during December. It is currently free of charge in early Alpha release, so go check it out.

Speaking of apps, Ali and Michael have been hard at work responding to your feedback about the new GFGD app to make it bug-free and more user-friendly. The app is a lot more user friendly and has a whole range of new features compared to the current website. We’re rolling it out slowly so only a fraction of you at a time will receive an invite to try out the app. We are listening carefully to your feedback and tweaking things for the best experience. Depending on progress, by February we may be able to make the app available to everyone.

December also saw a significant leap in the ability of our A.I. to tailor its recommendations specifically to you. The new GFGD app asks smarter questions of you and your answers help it figure out from which coaching strategies you will benefit the most. In conjunction with this, coaches receive more informative feedback as to how their students are doing.

During January we plan to make it easier to match Conversational Practice Partners with students, and we will begin work on the Embarrassing Story competition. Fun fun! To date, you have been able to submit entries to the competition but we’ve only saved them. But what if each week you were asked to vote for your favorite of several other user’s stories and we could announce a monthly story winner?
